Wow, it really looks like Kohl's is moving along quick! Still don't think it's worth all the dramatics it took to get them there, especially since they are not actually going to be a part of "downtown". With their front facing 180 folks will drive to Kohl's, browse, not shop - shopping would require prices to be affordable for the common folk in this area. Then once they are done looking they will hop back in their cars and drive to Walmart to shop. I doubt they will encourage foot traffic since no one is going to park there and walk around the back of the building to 3rd St. then what? What the hell else is there back there along 3rd? Will you even be allowed to leave your car in their lot if you wanted to walk the town? Probably not, they'll probably be like Wegman's and have the Parking Gestapo on speed dial to ticket your car if you park it and walk away. We'll see how it goes...

I can't say I'm excited, can't really get too excited for a store, but I'll go so far as to say I'm interested and will likely go there to look around. Maybe, if we wind up getting their store card and get their 20% off coupons and stuff it might pan out for me, but judging from the few Kohl's that I've gone to out of town I probably wouldn't be buying much there.
I'm having a hard time finding sneakers around here. Sears had some okay styles, but didn't like the prices. Famous Footwear seems to be following the same mentality as our Burlington Coat Factory and stocking clothing and shoes for men that fit the more "Urban" shoppers around here. I don't want sneakers that look like they were featured in a rap video, just some nice walkers, but seems like most of what they have are either black sneakers or these shinny, high gloss white ones all with funky looking uppers. I hate spending close to $50 for sneakers, and usually like to find some nice normal looking Nike or New Balance, but every time I look they seem to be harder to find at our mall stores. I don't even bother looking in those sports only stores - Finish Line, Foot Locker - their prices are ridiculous and styles look like favorites of inner city hip hop NBA wannabes - a category I don't picture myself in since I live in a hick town, hate rap and hip hop music, and can't shoot hoop for the life of me.
I wonder which direction our Kohl's will take with styles.

Since I live in Muncy, I pass by several good places to shop on my way into Williamsport; they all have convenient parking and good prices too. I will shop at Weigmans or eat at Perkins once in awhile, but every time I have to go into town for some reason I’m reminded why I avoid it the rest of the time.
I too remember the good old days in the sixties when I first moved to Williamsport. I didn’t mind shopping there, but then again there wasn’t any other choice back then.

Yeah, honestly I wasn't impressed with the Kohl's in Selinsgrove. But hopefully it will draw more stores to the downtown. Convenient free parking? There is the problem with the downtown in a nutshell.
